Hello Reader, Happy Masturbation May! If you're not familiar with the origins of Masturbation May, let me give you a quick history lesson. In 1994, Dr. Joycelyn Elders, the first Black woman to ever become Surgeon General, was fired by the Clinton administration for daring to suggest that teaching school age children that masturbation was a healthy and normal activity would have a positive public health impact if information about it was included in sex education curriculum. Good Vibrations, a sex positive retailer, learned about this egregious action by the administration and decided to raise awareness by creating the first every Masturbation Day, May 7th of 1995, the year after Dr. Elders was fired. It has since been expanded to encompass the entire month of May, alliteratively dubbed "Masturbation May" - so I hope you celebrate accordingly! As you can imagine, I've been masturbating daily all month! I'm currently enjoying myself in Cabo San Lucas as part of the support team for Monique Darling and Reid Mihalko's "Energy Sex Facilitator training." I'm a nerd for trainings and I love watching Monique and Reid teach the teachers how to become more skillful facilitators. I've even picked up a few new tricks myself! I have two big events coming up this month, one virtual and one in person in Los Angeles: On Wednesday May 22nd at 6pm Pacific I'm hosting a "movie night" where you can get on a Zoom call and watch my pre-recorded Secrets of Life Changing Hand Jobs with me - Mystery Science Theater 3000-style. We'll have discussions in the chat, I'll pause and clarify or go into more detail as requested, and we'll all get to hang out together in our comfiest clothes with our most delicious snacks and enjoy the workshop together.
