It's April and you know what that means!

As you know, 4/20 is the biggest cannabis holiday of the year. But there's another day this week that's also really important--Bicycle Day on 4/19.

For those unfamiliar, Bicycle Day celebrates chemist Albert Hofmann and his important work. He first synthesized LSD (acid) in 1938 and after 5 years on the shelf collecting dust, on April 19th 1943 he accidentally gave himself a tiny dose. He quickly learned that that tiny dose (250 micrograms) was actually enough to induce a full psychedelic experience. He realized this on his way home as he was riding his bicycle. After being assured by his doctor that he wasn’t dying, he started experiencing heightened sensations of colors and an “extremely stimulated imagination.” Hence, bicycle day!

I'm overjoyed to be in Los Angeles this weekend for a bunch of fabulous events, and I wanted to share them with you in case you're local or can get there!

In honor of Bicycle Day on Friday 4/19 I’m hosting a FREE event at the new bspoke space on Fairfax all about psychedelics and intimacy. On Saturday 4/20 I’m honored to be speaking on Zoom at the world’s first neurodiversity and cannabis conference hosted by Aaron Orsini, author of the groundbreaking book "Autism on Acid." My talk is at 10:20am and it's called Neurospicy Sex and Cannabis. There are a bunch of fabulous presenters and the tickets are sliding scale, so get yours here!

After the learning, it's party time! PuffDAO and Eaze are hosting Buds and Bites from 1-7pm on Sunset so you know I have to roll through to see Mary Jane Gibson's fireside chat, eat yummy food in the VIP lounge, and connect with all of the fabulous vendors! Finally (most importantly?) my birthday starts at midnight (yes, my bday is the day after 4/20 and I love it) so I’m excited to top off a memorable AshBash birthday weekend by partying with Lizzy Jeff and the magical crowd she attracts to her events. To be surrounded by so many talented and passionate humans makes me feel both lucky and grateful.
